WHAT IS BAC?
Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) is a measurement of the amount of alcohol present in the blood. It is calculated by determining how many milligrams of alcohol are present in 100 milliliters of blood. The charts below are to be viewed as a rule of thumb and not exact indications of impairment due to other factors such as pace of drinking, body type and muscle tone, metabolism, amount of food in the stomach, presence of other drugs or medications which can affect the level of intoxication.

1 Drink =
  • 12oz American Beer or
  • 4oz Wine or
  • 1.25oz shot (80 proof)

How to read the charts below:
  • Go to the first column (drinks) and select the number of drinks you consumed or plan to consume.
  • Now find your approximate weight in pounds (located on the top row)
  • Follow the row and column of the two values that match with you. The box at their intersection will indicate your personal BAC if you consume that number of drinks in 1 hour.
