Driver Education Person of the Month

The Driver Education Person of the Month is Chief David Perry, a strong advocate for traffic safety awareness both at the local and state levels. Under his leadership, the FSUPD has implemented several groundbreaking programs, including, but not limited to FSU's participation in Florida Road Safety Week, utilization of community awareness events such as the Stop DUI in 24 Hours bike ride, and SIDNE (Simulated Intoxicated Driving Experiece), leadership in the local DUI Strike Force, implementation of technologies for traffic enforcement such as handheld ticket writers, participation in the Florida Law Enforcement and DUI Enforcement Challenges, and more.

Chief Perry has encouraged his team to participate in many of the Dori Slosberg Foundation's programs and press events including the Geico Road Safety Bicycle Tour which has ensured their success. He is committed to a combination of sustained enforcement and education to reduce or eliminate injuries and deaths on Florida's roadways and on the Florida State University campus.
